Your Great-great-great grandmother says you're barking up the wrong
tree!!!
HOW TO START YOUR RESEARCH FOR ANCESTORS
The Bay County Genealogy Society
is here to help you in your quest for answers.
When you join our group,
you will have access to our library and to all of our marriage
and death index’s,
cemetery burial records, naturalization index’s
for Bay and Midland
Counties and family histories. There is much more and too
many items of interest to
list here. As a member you will receive our newsletter, The Clarion,
which contains
a variety of
articles about history and genealogy etc.
The goal of the first stage of a
typical genealogical research is collecting as much
information about our
ancestors as possible. The Society has many members who
have several centuries
of combined experience with genealogical problems. We also
have members located
all over the country. This gives our membership an advantage
in locating records
in other counties and states.
The Society meets on the second
Wednesday of the month. We currently meet at the
Fremont United Methodist Church
which is located at the corner of Wilson and Fremont,
in south Bay City.
Meetings start at 7:00 PM. Dues are $15.00 for a single membership
and $20.00
for a familyIone household membership. Visitors are welcome, so feel
free
to come to a meeting and get to know us before you decide to join.
